Gabriel Jesus names £35m Manchester City player in his dream five-a-side team

Gabriel Jesus has named Ederson Moraes in his dream all-Brazilian five-a-side team.

In an interview with beIN SPORTS Asia, the Arsenal striker decided to pick only players from his country for his team instead of those from other nationalities that he has played with at club level.

Ederson seems to be a favourite when it comes to such teams, with Gabby Agbonlahor also once saying that he would love to play with him in a five-a-side game.

Jamie Carragher has also said that he is “sure” that the 30-year-old could play as an outfield player in a match.

Andy Townsend claimed that on the ball, no goalkeeper in world football is on the same level as the £35 million (Independent) man.

As Gabriel Jesus was naming his all-Brazilian dream five-a-side team, he opted for Ederson in goal and also selected former Manchester City midfielder, Fernandinho.

“I have Ederson and Alisson. Difficult. I have put Ederson. I [would] go with Fernandinho as [a] central defender. I have put Neymar. Neymar and [Roberto] Firmino, and me up front.”

Jesus ended up taking himself out of the side eventually, saying, “So, Neymar, Firmino and R9 [Ronaldo Nazario].”

Ederson could play as an outfield player in five-a-side

Gabriel Jesus made the right choice by picking former Manchester City teammate Ederson as there may be no goalkeeper in the history of the game more suited to five-a-side games than him.

While many think the Brazilian shotstopper could play as an outfield player in an 11-a-side game, that may be a tad too unrealistic.

But in a small-sided game, Ederson would suit the role to a tee.

The former Benfica No.1 would simply have to get on the ball and find the free man, which he could do with aplomb.

Due to playing on a small-sided pitch, Ederson’s incredible ball-striking would come in handy and he could emerge as a surprise goalscorer in five-a-side football as well.

It would be a sight to behold to witness the treble-winner playing further forward in such a game one day.
