Only time will tell whether Manchester City decide to make more signings after having already added Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders to their roster.

Pep Guardiola will be hoping that City’s decision hinges on how they internally view their chances of winning silverware after their three summer signings.

A brand-new right-back looks like the Sky Blues’ priority, with Kyle Walker saying yes to joining Everton.

Unfortunately for the English giants, their target Tino Livramento is content at Newcastle United.

Flamengo could sell Man City target Wesley Franca for £17 million

Wesley Franca was on Manchester City’s radar and Pep Guardiola’s men were believed to be pushing to sign him this summer.

However, Manchester City’s pursuit of Wesley had become stagnant.

But the positive development for City is that Gazzetto dello Sport have reported that the Flamengo defender could be available for just €20 million (£17 million).

However, Juventus are keen on signing Wesley as well, with Bianconeri chief scout Daniel Comolli believed to be a huge admirer of the Brazilian.

Much like Manchester City, the report mentions that Juve have been chasing the 21-year-old for a while.

Who is Wesley Franca?

Wesley is quite an unknown commodity in England and as a result, several City fans might not know much about him as a player.

The Brazilian came to prominence after leaving Atletico Turabao to join Flamengo in 2021, where he became a first-team player.

Since then, Wesley has gone from strength to strength, attracting the attention of elite clubs like Manchester City and Juventus.

It’s safe to say that while the youngster is a proven commodity in Brazil, European football could be a major step-up for him.

Whether Manchester City decide to take a punt on Wesley due to his £17 million asking price or look at alternative targets remains to be seen.
