Pep Guardiola gives honest verdict on why things are rough between Man City & Erling Haaland

Considering Erling Haaland was extremely isolated against Manchester United, Pep Guardiola assessed why things are currently not at their best between him and Man City, ahead of his side’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Several fans and pundits alike especially came out in full force after the Manchester Derby to pin the blame on the £51 million (Sky Sports) striker for the visitors’ defeat, as many feel his arrival has led to the team deteriorating.

However, Pep Guardiola, who does feel his star man can be more involved seems to clearly disagree when it comes to pinning the blame on Erling Haaland, as he implied before Man City face Tottenham.

Of course, City are more accustomed to playing with a false 9, as they have done over the past 2 seasons.

However, things for the Premier League champions have only gone awry after the World Cup, and that does not have much correlation with the presence of the deadly goalscorer.

Before the tournament, Haaland and City were lauded for how much of a match made in heaven they were.

As a result, Pep Guardiola has given his take on suggestions ahead of Man City versus Tottenham, as it is rather lazy to claim that Erling Haaland has made the side worse.

The great man, who turned 52 on Wednesday gave his two cents.

When quizzed about whether Man City were still learning to operate with Erling Haaland in the side, Pep Guardiola briefly gave his thoughts ahead of his side’s crucial fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.

“We have played really good with him. [Things will improve] if we play balls to him as much as possible”, he told MEN’s Joe Bray.

The Catalan boss is spot on about the Erling Haaland and Man City situation ahead of the encounter against Tottenham.

Ultimately, things have largely been rosy between both parties and it is the job of the creators to find the most in-form striker in the world more than they recently for the side to be at its unplayable best.
