Pep Guardiola is trying to provoke Jack Grealish at Manchester City – and those close to the England international are not expecting him to take it well.
That is according to the Telegraph.
So, what has been said about Pep Guardiola and Jack Grealish? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the £100m man has been in and out of the starting XI so far this season following the arrival of Jeremy Doku.
Of course, Grealish missed a few weeks with a dead leg, although the Belgian is still overshadowing him after joining in a £55.5m deal from Rennes.
Chris Sutton even claimed that the Manchester City No.10 now finds himself “in a bit of bother” at the Etihad Stadium.
Now – however – the Telegraph are claiming that Guardiola wants to provoke a reaction from Grealish, after leaving him on the bench against Bournemouth.

The Telegraph’s story adds that sources close to the 28-year-old do not expect him to take being left out lightly.
It comes after Miguel Delaney of the Independent relayed a discussion in which some suggested that this is simply Guardiola’s way of disciplining Grealish, after his wild treble celebrations in the public eye.
An angry Grealish is good for Manchester City
Grealish is one of those players – much like Wayne Rooney used to be – who performs better out on the pitch with a bit of fire in their belly.

Of course, the Birmingham-born maestro is a fantastic footballer anyway, but he always looked that bit better at Aston Villa during games where he’d been kicked and wound up.
At Manchester City, Grealish hasn’t really received that treatment to the same extent, as opponents have other threats to worry about, but if Guardiola can now ignite a fire in the England international, it could see him perform even better for Manchester City.
