Rafaela Pimenta, the agent of Man City striker Erling Haaland explained why she thinks he is worth £887 million.
If the Norwegian striker, who has a release clause in his contract, as previously revealed by her would become the most expensive player in history if a club bought him from the Etihad Stadium at said fee.
Considering Pep Guardiola’s side signed the 22-year-old for a reasonable £51 million (Eurosport) fee, the fact that he is valued at such an exorbitant asking price speaks volumes of how much he already done in his career.
Erling Haaland agent says he is worth £887 million
In an interview with Spanish outlet AS, Rafaela Pimenta, the agent of Man City goalcorer Erling Haaland broke down why she truly believes he is a £887 million player.
“For me, [Erling] Haaland is worth €1,000 million (£887 million). Maybe nobody is going to pay that, but it is the potential that he has when he arrives at a club”, his agent said.
She continued, “With him come fans, goals, sports results, professionalism, digital content, notoriety, sponsors, if you put all this together, his value is an aggregate of many things.”
“But the price of a footballer is actually set by a club. I know that nobody is going to pay €700 million for a player, but I am very clear that the value that Erling adds when he arrives at a club is immense, at least €1,000 million.”
Whether you agree or disagree, there is no playing down the Haaland brand
While Erling Haaland was already viewed as a phenomenon at Borussia Dortmund, he has now essentially become a global superstar, which is perhaps why his agent feels he is worth £887 million.
Alongside Kylian Mbappe, the Sky Blues hitman is set to dominate football for the next decade, battling his counterpart for the throne of the best player in the world, much like in the same vein as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Keeping that in mind, the youngster may well be worth a world-record fee, even if it isn’t close to the £887 million mark.
