As Manchester City have been linked with a move for Alphonso Davies, it is worth revisiting the praise afforded to him by Robert Lewandowski.
Speaking to CBS in 2020, the-then Bayern Munich striker gave his two cents on his teammate.
It’s safe to that Robert Lewandowski held Manchester City-linked left-back Alphonso Davies in high regard.
What Robert Lewandowski once said about Manchester City-linked speedster Alphonso Davies
Back in June, the Canadian defender’s agent admitted that it was possible that his client would depart Bayern Munich.
After all, Davies’ current contract expires in 2025, which means that he either renews his deal in the summer or is likely sold by the club as they would certainly be against the idea of losing him on a free transfer.
As Manchester City potentially plot to bring Alphonso Davies to the Etihad Stadium, Robert Lewandowski showered praise on him three years ago.

“He’s a very young player but he’s very funny and he’s always positive”, he said.
“Sometimes of course I have to push him… he’s already 20 and I know that he has amazing potential. I know that he has to work hard as well because talent is not enough. He knows that.”
Alphonso Davies would be unreal in sky blue
Robert Lewandowski is certainly right about Alphonso Davies, who would likely be an instant hit at Manchester City.
In fact, the 22-year-old would perfectly fit into City’s system and operate like Kyle Walker has this season, which is as a right-winger in possession.
Except the fact that Davies is much more potent in the final third than Walker.
To add to that, the youngster would also allow Jack Grealish to drift inside, where is he far more effective rather than as a touchline winger.
The prospect of witnessing Alphonso Davies developing under Pep Guardiola as well is a scary one.
