Mikel John Obi said about Erling Haaland on Rio Ferdinand’s official YouTube channel: “I like watching Haaland. I mean, the guy is on fire. He is on fire.
“He is scoring goals, and the way he scores the goals, header, right foot, left foot. And what he is doing for Man City is absolutely unbelievable. “

In my opinion, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is a world-class player. I have no doubt about it whatsoever.
The 23-year-old has been superb for City and has been banging in the goals for fun since his move to the Etihad Stadium from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.
The striker scored 52 goals in all competitions last season. Pep Guardiola’s side won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.
Haaland has scored 13 goals and given three assists in 12 Premier League matches and has scored four goals and provided one assist in four UEFA Champions League games so far this season.
There is a case to be made that the striker is the best number 9 in the world – better than Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane and Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski.
Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic has said that Manchester City can reach the levels of Real Madrid.
Kovacic was on the books of Madrid from 2015 until 2019 when he moved to Chelsea.
The 29-year-old Croatia international midfielder switched to City from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
During his time at Madrid, Kovacic won La Liga once and the UEFA Champions League on three occasions.
Kovacic said on City’s official YouTube channel: “I think, to be honest, I think City has this aura a little bit like Madrid used to have it in these years when they won three Champions League in a row.
“I think City can get to a stage where it’s the same. Now when we also play not perfect, we win the games because we adjust. City’s winning a lot in recent years, so I think they could do the same in Europe, dominate.”
