Manchester City have had some amazing players since the 2008 takeover.
It has been a hugely successful past 15 years for the club, and fans have been treated to watching some truly wonderful players.
Club legends have been born, such as Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Sergio Aguero.
And more will undoubtedly emerge. Ilkay Gundogan could well be considered one too now, as could Kevin De Bruyne.
Along the way, there have also been some top players who didn’t quite hit legend status.
One of those players was Samir Nasri – and Joleon Lescott has made an interesting claim about the Frenchman…
Joleon Lescott says Samir Nasri could have been so much better had Pep Guardiola been at Manchester City at the same time
Nasri came up in a conversation on the FILTHYFELLAS YouTube channel.

And Lescott made some interesting comments about his old Etihad teammate, who signed for City in 2011 from Arsenal.
It was suggested that Nasri ‘could have done more’ in a City shirt, to which Lescott said: “I would agree with that. And I would say that to him.
“He could do a lot of stuff. No, not attitude. Because he was consistent with that, so I didn’t mind that. I think he needed Pep. If he got Pep two years earlier…”

Nasri made 176 appearances for City and stayed at the club for six seasons, although he spent his final one on loan at Sevilla.
Guardiola came to City in the summer of 2016, and Nasri did actually make one 15-minute appearance under the new head coach, before departing for Spain.
He then left the club permanently the following summer.
Prime Nasri under Pep would have been incredible
One wonders just how amazing Nasri could have been had Pep arrived at the club a couple of years earlier.
Nasri was really good for the most part during his time at City.
But there was sometimes a feeling that he could perhaps have hit higher heights.

Arguably, he didn’t score enough goals for the club, netting just 27 times in 176 games. He did make 40 assists though, so that was a decent return.
Nasri was such a good technician, and he likely would have become a world-beater under Pep. By the time Pep arrived at City though, Nasri’s best days were past him.
