Tim Sherwood has had his say on how Marcus Rashford would fare if he played for Manchester City.
In November, the pundit had claimed that the Manchester United forward had the quality to play for City and honed in on how Pep Guardiola would improve his defensive work rate.
Previously, Tim Sherwood has also stated that Bruno Fernandes has the talent to play for the Sky Blues and in his view, his attitude would be fixed if he was managed by Guardiola as well.
Tim Sherwood says Marcus Rashford would be “ripping it up” if he played for Manchester City
So far this season, the England international has registered just five goals and three assists in 21 Premier League starts for Manchester United.
However, Tim Sherwood now reckons that not only is Marcus Rashford good enough to play for Manchester City but also that he would be flying at the Etihad Stadium.

“We talked about [Pep] Guardiola, if he went to Man City, he’d be ripping it up. So, these Man United fans, there’s a lot of them out there who say, we can do without Marcus [Rashford], let’s just cash in”, he said on talkSPORT.
“Someone might cash in and this kid could be a superstar somewhere else. If he starts being happy and starts enjoying the best game in the world.”
How Jeremy Doku evolves could be an insight into what Marcus Rashford could have become under Pep Guardiola
Regardless of whether one agrees or disagrees with Tim Sherwood about Marcus Rashford, it is worth stating that his argument could be proven correct or incorrect with how Jeremy Doku evolves at Manchester City.
While Rashford was perhaps more accomplished in terms of producing output than Doku at 21, their profiles, especially as youngsters are quite similar.
The Belgian is perhaps a superior dribbler than the 26-year-old ever was but he also possesses the same level of directness and pace.
However, the former Rennes sensation still has plenty of room for improvement before he becomes one of the first names on the team sheet for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
But if Guardiola manages to elevate Doku’s game with time, as he has done with several new signings, one could get an insight into how much he could have improved Rashford under his guidance.
