It has been reported that Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is now set to join Al-Nassr.
This comes from Fabrizio Romano, after it was claimed on Monday that a fee of £25.6 million sealed the fee for the Spanish international’s exit.
Now, it has been revealed that Aymeric Laporte is closing in on a transfer to Al-Nassr this summer.
Fabrizio Romano: Aymeric Laporte to Al-Nassri is all but official
Branded as ‘absolutely world-class’ by Steph Houghton, the £57 million (Sky Sports) man’s career at City took a turn for the worse last season.
The 29-year-old lost his place in the side to the extent that he became the Sky Blues’ fifth-choice centre-back, starting a mere 11 Premier League games in the process.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has used his signature catchphrase, ‘Here We Go’ to signal how close Aymeric Laporte is to becoming an Al-Nassr player.

The Italian journalist also claimed that the medical at the Saudi Pro League side has been booked, with the 29-year-old set to receive a salary of £15.7 million.
The treble-winner’s move to his new club is expected to be completed next week, as he is set to be contracted to the team until 2026.
Aymeric Laporte has been an excellent servant for the Sky Blues
While the move to Al-Nassr coupled with him being a bench option last season may cloud the masses’ judgement of his time at Manchester City, Aymeric Laporte has been nothing short of terrific.
As recently as in the 2021/2022 campaign, the former Athletic Bilbao centre-back famously played through injury to carry the Sky Blues to a league title during a time when the rest of their defenders were injured.
Throughout his time at City, Laporte has been consistently brilliant and up there with some of the best players in his position in the world.
While the end of his time at the Etihad Stadium was not his finest hour, Aymeric Laporte deserves widespread appreciation for the heights he hit at the club before last season.
