Dean Saunders has lavished praise on to Ederson, who came up trumps for Manchester City in their 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the £34.9 million (Guardian) man became the topic of conversation after his side completed the treble on Saturday.
Dean Saunders lauded Ederson, who miraculously saved Inter Milan left wing-back Robin Gosens’ last-gasp header to ensure Manchester City get over the line.
Dean Saunders labels Ederson as the ‘hero’ after Manchester City beat Inter Milan
The Brazilian goalkeeper has previously been slated for the fact that while he has always been an elite all-round No.1, his shotstopping has been questionable from time to time.
Even Federico Dimarco admitted that the five-time Premier League winner denied Simone Inzaghi on the night by making several ‘great saves.’
Dean Saunders reserved special praise for Ederson, who stepped up to the plate for Manchester City against Inter Milan.

“The goalkeeper, hero. Ederson, makes two saves. First one [from Romelu Lukaku’s header] wasn’t such a great save, he was in the right place. But the second one was a great save in the 95th minute.”
Ederson has well and truly silenced his doubters
While the Sky Blues legend has been a gamechanger of a signing since his arrival in 2017, his shotstopping has been suspect at times, especially at the end of last season.
However, the decorated goalkeeper has responded like every top player should by silencing his doubters, as even Dean Saunders noted how instrumental he was to Manchester City winning the treble against Inter Milan.
Even aside from the Champions League final, the 29-year-old ensured City got over the line in previous rounds against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid by making a series of outstanding stops.
Fair play to Ederson for making his critics eat humble pie, as he has well and truly cemented his place as a Manchester City great and a legend of the game.
