After Manchester City beat Inter Milan in the Champions League final, Rodri lavished praise on to Pep Guardiola.
City’s official website released an exclusive interview with the matchwinner on the night on Tuesday, as he reacted to the Sky Blues winning the treble.
As Rodri was quizzed about Pep Guardiola and his brilliance, he unsurprisingly lauded the Manchester City boss.
Rodri raved about Pep Guardiola after Champions League final triumph
Branded as an ‘amazing manager’ by Mateo Kovacic, the Catalan tactician became the only coach in the history of the game to have won two trebles.
Throughout his time at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola has been under constant pressure from fans and pundits alike to especially win Europe’s elite competition and in June, he did so in style by winning the lot as well.

After the contest, Rodri was quizzed about his thoughts on Pep Guardiola and his genius, as he responded by saying, “I think we don’t need to talk much about Pep. He’s a legend. He has nothing else to show to the world of football.”
Pep Guardiola proved once again that he is the best tactician in world football
While Rodri is bang on in his assessment of Pep Guardiola, a strong case can be made that the manner in which he led Manchester City to the treble may be his greatest tactical accomplishment till date.
Before the World Cup, many felt City were undergoing a transition season due to a drop-off in mentality, the absence of certain profiles of players and the team adapting to Erling Haaland’s addition.
However, the manner in which Guardiola blocked out all the noise and instead inculcated a brand-new tactical setup mid-season was remarkable to witness.
A majority of managers would have been unable to reinvent their teams well into the campaign but that is what separates Guardiola from the rest and makes him arguably the best coach of all time.
