Steve Howey lavished praise upon Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol for his stunning display against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Speaking on City’s full-time show after the contest, the pundit gave his verdict on the £200,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man’s performance.
Unsurprisingly, Steve Howey was full of praise for Josko Gvardiol, who was one of the standouts for Manchester City in their 2-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Steve Howey raves about Josko Gvardiol masterclass after Manchester City beat Brighton
Branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Mateo Kovacic, the 21-year-old turned heads with his showing once again, especially going forward as his ball-carrying was nothing short of sensational.
The Croatian international continues to make the left-back position his own, as he remains a rock defensively while being enviably excellent on the ball.
After Manchester City left the Etihad Stadium with a win under their belt against Brighton, Steve Howey only had nice things to say about Josko Gvardiol.

“So dependable, strong, difficult to beat, he’s aggressive, every trademark you want in a defender but he’s got that bit about him where he’s a player, he can play”, he said.
“So, for me, I think he was up there, certainly pushing [Jeremy] Doku for Man of the Match.”
Josko Gvardiol is a generational talent
Steve Howey was bang on about Josko Gvardiol, who looked in terrific touch once again up against Brighton.
Despite ‘generational talent’ perhaps being overused as a term in football nowadays, as defensive prospects go, are there any more well-rounded than the former RB Leipzig colossus?
Josko Gvardiol looks right at home as a left-back as his pure defensive traits are outstanding while technically, he could well usurp John Stones one day as the best in this respect amongst the centre-backs at the club.
Physically, the 21-year-old is an absolute specimen as well.
Be it out of position or as a centre-back, Gvardiol is a dream to watch everywhere and with how complete his profile is, the sky is well and truly the limit for him.
