Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen has hailed Erling Haaland as ‘a top player’, when talking about the toughest opponent he has faced.
Haaland has enjoyed a pretty solid start to the new season.
He’s already up to eight goals in all competitions, and the Norwegian looks ready to go in pursuit of the amazing numbers he put up last season.
Haaland has actually missed quite a lot of chances though this term.
But it hasn’t really mattered, and there will surely be games where he just has an absolute field day.
He is definitely the top dog in the Premier League when it comes to strikers – and Andersen has sang his fellow Scandanavian’s praises…
Joachim Andersen simply blown away by Manchester City striker Erling Haaland
Andersen was actually speaking about coming up against his fellow compatriot Rasmus Hojlund at the weekend.

Palace are playing Manchester United at Old Trafford, and Andersen is ready to face his international teammate.
But when asked about some of the toughest players he’s faced, Andersen’s mind immediately went to one man.
He told Palace’s official website: “[In the the Premier League as a whole] it must be Erling Haaland. He’s a top player, he’s quick, he’s strong, and the numbers he produces are unbelievable.
“He’s a tough one and you need to be on your toes to deliver a good performance against a guy like him.”
A sound start for Haaland
£51 million star Haaland actually did come in for a bit of criticism after his performances against West Ham United and Red Star Belgrade, against whom he missed a plethora of chances.
But a haul of eight goals so far is still fantastic.
The second season is, in theory, going to be more challenging for Haaland.

Teams will be putting multiple players on him, and there will just generally be more ‘wising up’ to his game.
But he’s made a great start, and City fans will hope the goals continue to flow.
