As Josko Gvardiol looks like he will inevitably become a Manchester City, Nedum Onuoha once lavished praise on to him.
The former Sky Blues defender gave his two cents on the Croatian centre-back via Eurosport, as it was reported on Wednesday that RB Leipzig are now open to selling him to the treble-winners.
With Josko Gvardiol looking increasingly likely to join Manchester City, Nedum Onuoha gave him his seal of approval back in February.
What Nedum Onuoha said about Manchester City target Josko Gvardiol
Even the ever-credible journalist Sam Lee reported on Tuesday that the move ‘will 100% happen’.
As it seems like Aymeric Laporte is keen on exiting the Etihad Stadium, the RB Leipzig fan favourite could now join the champions of Europe to replace him.
When quizzed about Josko Gvardiol, former Manchester City right-back Nedum Onuoha gave him a glowing assessment five months ago.

“I think he’s been incredible. And when you look at how young he is as well, this is why there is so much interest in him, [clubs want] to bring him to the Premier League now.”
“I was also impressed with the goal he scored as well. It felt like a very ‘British-type’ header at the back post [against Manchester City], jumping on someone’s shoulders to score. I would not like to mark him from corners in the Premier League. The way he plays, he’s just on the front foot.”
If Josko Gvardiol signs, he could already be the signing of the summer
Nedum Onuoha certainly knows a thing or two when it comes to what it takes to defend at the highest level, as he raved about Manchester City-linked colossus Josko Gvardiol.
If Gvardiol does join Guardiola and Co., it seems like he could be one of, if not the only such blockbuster deal where there is no element of doubt about how he fares.
Be it Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid or Mason Mount to Manchester United, questions marks have been posed by many about the pair’s suitability at their respective clubs.
As for Josko Gvardiol, with how incredibly talented he is and Pep Guardiola’s tactical setup that features four centre-backs, the general consensus seems to be that he will become an instant success.
With the youngster just being 21 years of age, this could be a signing that benefits City for the next decade as well.
