Frank LeBouef has predicted Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez to win the Ballon d’Or one day.

Speaking to ESPN FC, the pundit made this claim about the £100,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man.

While one would expect Erling Haaland to be the Manchester City player to take home the Ballon d’Or one day, Frank LeBouef expects Julian Alvarez to do the same in the future.

Frank LeBouef says Julian Alvarez will win the Ballon d’Or one day

Branded as ‘elite’ by the Daily Mail, the World Cup winner has been one of the most in-form players in the world this season.

With seven goals and four assists in all competitions, the 23-year-old, branded as ‘extraordinary’ by Khaldoon Al Mubarak has been a man possessed ever since taking the injured Kevin De Bruyne’s spot in the side.

So much so that Frank LeBouef believes that Julian Alvarez has it in his game to become a Ballon d’Or winner one day.

“And he’s going to win the Ballon d’Or on top of it…[apart from] winning other stuff”, he predicted.

The sky is the limit for Julian Alvarez

While one does expect the enigmatic goalscorer to win the Ballon d’Or anytime soon, Frank LeBouef could be proven right in due course.

For starters, the Argentine international is not only a prolific goal-getter but his all-round game makes him an extremely effective member of any attack he is a part of.

To add to that, Alvarez is far from having hit his prime as this is the first campaign in Europe where he has been a regular starter.

In addition, the former River Plate marksman is only expected to improve exponentially over time under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage.

With Manchester City expected to compete right until the end on all fronts for years to come and Argentina expected to do the same, the treble-winner could always be in the hunt for collective silverware, that would put him in contention to win such an esteemed individual award.
