Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given his verdict on Julian Alvarez.
Guardiola has noted the different positions that City and Argentina international star Alvarez can play in.
So, what has Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said about Julian Alvarez?
Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been raving about Julian Alvarez.
Guardiola has noted just how versatile Alvarez is.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has said that he is very happy with how everything is going with the Argentine star.
Alvarez has made 42 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The attacker has scored 13 goals and given three assists in those games.
The Manchester Evening News quotes Guardiola as saying about Alvarez’s best role: “He can play striker, behind striker a central position close to the box to help with the intense pressing.
“With us second striker behind Haaland but with Argentina further forward ahead of Messi.
“In central positions, he’s playing well.”
Julian Alvarez could become world class under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City
In my opinion, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola can make Julian Alvarez a world-class player.
Erling Haaland is the number one striker at City.
That is not going to change anytime soon, even if City signed Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

Alvarez came to City as a striker for £14 million (Sky Sports), but Guardiola has found a way to accommodate the 23-year-old in his team and has figured out how to play him alongside Haaland.
The Argentina international has been superb for the Citizens this season and has been one of the best players for the defending Premier League and European champions.
The 23-year-old has scored four goals and given three assists in 11 Premier League matches this season.
Alvarez has scored three goals and provided one assist in three UEFA Champions League games for City this campaign.
There is more to come from the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina.
I believe that Guardiola will make Alvarez a world-class player.
