Tim Sherwood has said that Pep Guardiola is the greatest manager the Premier League has ever seen.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, the outspoken manager-turned pundit was quizzed about whether City’s side over the past couple of years has eclipsed Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles.’
Tim Sherwood believes Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are simply the best that English football has ever seen.
Tim Sherwood says Pep Guardiola is the greatest Premier League manager of all time
Branded as ‘amazing’ by Mateo Kovacic, the Spaniard is certainly considered as one of the greatest managers in the history of the game.
However, the general consensus remains that as far as the Premier League goes, it is impossible for Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson to be surpassed.
But Tim Sherwood has briefly claimed that Pep Guardiola is the Premier League’s greatest manager, with his side being the best to ever grace English shores.
“Pep’s team, just entertaining. I think he’s the best and they’re the best”, he said when compared to the ‘Invincibles.’
Pep Guardiola being in such conversations is a testament to his greatness
The fact that Tim Sherwood views Pep Guardiola in such a manner is a demonstration of his undeniably significant impact in the Premier League.
Considering the Catalan boss has spent just seven years at Manchester City, for him to be universally classed as the second greatest, if not the absolute best coach the league has ever seen proves how much of a smash hit he has been.
In terms of his silverware, Guardiola could become the first manager to win four league titles a row, having won five in six full campaigns already.
Having lifted every other trophy including a treble as well, the former Bayern Munich tactician’s CV is enviable, especially in England.
But perhaps more than that, the impact that Pep Guardiola’s philosophy has had on teams and managers across the division as well as all the way down to grassroots football remains unprecedented.
As a result, Guardiola merits being in such conversations.
