‘His attitude’: Fabrizio Romano shares how Manchester City really feel about their in-demand 23-year-old

Julian Alvarez is one of the best players at Manchester City and could become world class, so I am not surprised that Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with him.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is using Julian Alvarez regularly this season, and the forward is repaying his faith in him.

Interestingly, Guardiola has found a way to play Alvarez and star striker Erling Haaland in the same team.

City beat Brighton and Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

Alvarez scored in the seventh minute, and Haaland scored in the 19th minute.

Argentina international forward Alvarez has scored four goals and given three assists in nine Premier League matches this season.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals and given one assist in two UEFA Champions League games this campaign.

Alvarez has been one of City’s best players this season, perhaps even the best.

Manchester City stance on linked-away Julian Alvarez

And, Barcelona and Real Madrid have been linked.

Sport reported in September that Real Madrid want the forward.

It was also Sport who claimed last week that Barcelona are keen on Alvarez.

Fabrizio Romano, though, has some very good news for City fans in regard to the future of Alvarez.

The Italian journalist has reported that City are very happy with the former River Plate star, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina, and do not want to sell him.

Romano said in his Daily Briefing column: “One City player I don’t see leaving is Julian Alvarez, despite links with Barcelona.

“It’s important to remember that Barcelona have invested big money on Vitor Roque and there’s obviously (Robert) Lewandowski there too.

“I’m not aware of any contact with Barca at all at this stage.”

The transfer expert added: “Man City have extended his contract as they trust Alvarez, they’re super happy with his attitude, and at the moment there’s no discussion at all internally or externally about the player leaving.”

No need for Julian Alvarez to leave Manchester City

I do not think that Julian Alvarez should even consider leaving Manchester City anytime soon.

Why should he?

Of course, we all know the might and pedigree of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Like Manchester City, they are massive clubs and are global brands.

But, Alvarez is doing well at City, and the club themselves are doing extremely well under manager Pep Guardiola.

City won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season.

The Citizens could win the league and the UEFA Champions League again this campaign.

Alvarez is playing regularly for City and is winning games and trophies.

There is no need for him to leave the Etihad Stadium.
