A report has revealed what Harry Kane did after discovering that Jack Grealish had been omitted from the 26-man England squad that was set to travel to Germany for Euro 2024.

Much like at Euro 2020 in which Italy triumphed, Gareth Southgate’s side lost the final to the team that played the best football throughout the tournament — Luis de la Fuente’s Spain, who won 2-1 on Sunday.

It seemed like extra-time was beckoning until Mikel Oyarzabal stepped up and scored one of the most important goals in his country’s history.

As English supporters reflect on why they failed to get over the hurdle of a European Championship final again, Jack Grealish’s exclusion is a topic worth discussing.

What Harry Kane did after Jack Grealish was excluded from England squad for Euro 2024

It has been reported that England was not a “happy camp” after Grealish’s exclusion from their Euro 2024 squad was confirmed.

Further details reveal that some of the Three Lions roster felt that Manchester City’s number 10’s experience of playing in big games and sheer quality were reasons why he should have been picked.

Grealish is believed to have been stunned by the decision — with the report claiming he was in no mood to “exchange pleasantries” with Gareth Southgate.

Some of the Three Lions squad were reported to have visited the 28-year-old’s in disbelief over the decision.

The Athletic have reported that Kane found it necessary to discuss with Southgate why he had decided to exclude Grealish from the England squad for Euro 2024.

The Bayern Munich striker felt once he understood the 53-year-old’s decision, he would relay his thoughts to the rest of the players.

Kane and Southgate are believed to have gone for a walk to discuss the exclusion of Grealish — who was a part of their squads in Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.

Jack Grealish will be determined that he is never excluded from the England set-up again

While Grealish would have felt vindicated by the fact that Kane, amongst other was seemingly unhappy about his exclusion from the England roster.

But simultaneously, the three-time Premier League winner would be wondering how he could have helped his nation beat Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Regardless of whether Gareth Southgate is in charge of the England side or not, Grealish would be determined to ensure that based on sheer merit, no manager can exclude him from the squad in the future.

The Manchester City attacker’s exclusion from the squad coupled with the English continuing their failure to get over the line in major tournaments would have sparked a fire in his belly.
