Manchester City have wasted no time on the transfer front as they look to reclaim top spot in the Premier League after a below-par season.
The Citizens have already begun on their rebuild by signing the likes of Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez and Abdukodir Khusanov – and they’re only just getting started.
Manchester City are currently prioritising a move for a midfielder, and Tijjani Reijnders is a player Man City are especially keen on signing.
French football journalist Santi Aouna has now shared an update on talks club-side and player-side, along with how the AC Milan star feels about potentially joining City.

Tijjani Reijnders ‘excited’ about Manchester City project as deal getting closer
Aouna took to X to provide some good news for City fans – namely that talks between Milan and City are “very positive”.
Indeed, City apparently want to seal the deal over the next few days, as for the player himself, he has already said yes to joining the club.
The deal is almost done on the player side, with final details being clarified, according to Aouna.
In addition, the attached Footmercato article by Aouna saw him claim that Reijnders is “excited” about the City project and wants to join.
Manchester City News previously covered reports claiming Reijnders dreams of being coached by Pep Guardiola.
Indeed, the 26-year-old believes the Etihad Stadium would be the perfect destination for him to develop as a midfielder.
This has apparently led him to snub a move to Real Madrid, who have also been in pursuit.

What Pep Guardiola and Hugo Viana think of Tijjani Reijnders
Reijnders’ desire to join City is very much reciprocated – club manager Pep Guardiola and director of football Hugo Viana love Reijnders too.
“Tijjani Reijnders, No. 8, is considered the perfect player by Hugo Viana, the new director who is taking care of the market, and also by Pep Guardiola,” Fabrizio Romano recently said.
Meanwhile, City fans have already given their verdict on the prospect of signing Reijnders.
Manchester City are also expected to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest in the coming weeks
