Tijjani Reijnders has been linked with a move to Manchester City on several instances this summer.
Manchester City are interested in signing Reijnders and they view the AC Milan midfielder as the ideal long-term replacement for Ilkay Gundogan.
The Telegraph have also now reported that City’s interest in the 26-year-old is “serious.”
However, for Pep Guardiola’s men to be able to sign Reijnders, AC Milan would like a fee in excess of £57 million to be paid — which would surpass their club-record sale when Kaka signed for Real Madrid in 2009.
Manchester City fans are fully on board with the signing of the Dutch international this summer.

One Manchester City fan reacted to Reijnders being linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium by writing: “This would be lovely. Would go a long way to rebuild this broken midfield.”
Another City supporter stated that the Serie A winner is the most important signing Pep Guardiola and Co could make in the summer: “This is the only signing I need at the Etihad this year.”
A third Manchester City fan reacted to the report by stating that Reijnders is one of the most in-form midfielders in world football and a signing that would make complete sense: “One of the most standout midfielders this past year. Easily get behind this.”
A fourth supporter highlighted that with Morgan Gibbs-White expected to join Manchester City and now the Dutchman added to their shortlist, more departures in midfield could occur apart from that of Kevin De Bruyne’s: “If they’re buying him and MGW, you can only assume that we will see more midfield departures than we expect.”
Speaking of Gibbs-White, another fan feels Reijnders would be a better addition than him: “Reijnders is a far superior signing to MGW.”
While finally, a sixth Manchester City fan claimed that if a deal is struck to sign Reijnders, he would be one of the Sky Blues’ best incomings since Josko Gvardiol in 2023: “Reijnders would be a gigantic signing for City. One of the best we’ve done since Gvardiol.”
The midfield maestro is a man in demand and he would certainly appreciate all the positivity coming his way from City fans worldwide if he is privately keen on the move.
What AC Milan expect to happen with Tijjani Reijnders’ future
Manchester City fans would like Gibbs-White signed and alongside the San Siro fan favourite, the pair could help revamp Pep Guardiola’s ageing midfield.
The Zwolle-born technician’s pedigree in particular cannot be questioned.
For both AC Milan and the Netherlands, Reijnders is one of the first names on the team sheet and is one of the most consistent performers in the side.
This season, the Manchester City target has registered 15 goals and five assists in all competitions as he continues to have a tremendous campaign.

Regarding Reijnders’ future, the Telegraph also mentioned that AC Milan expect Manchester City to launch a bid to sign him.
