Manchester City fans have been discussing Morgan Gibbs-White, following his performance for Nottingham Forest against Leicester City today.
Manchester City are interested in Gibbs-White ahead of the summer, and may test Forest’s resolve with a bid.
Especially after reports that Bayern Munich are in pole position to sign Florian Wirtz.
City would likely have an easier time of signing Morgan Gibbs-White if Forest did not secure Champions League football.
Forest’s hopes of that took a hit today as they could only draw 2-2 with Leicester, Gibbs-White played a starring role for the hosts.
After going a goal down to Conor Coady, Gibbs-White equalised with a header, before turning provider for Chris Wood to score his 19th Premier League goal of the season – putting him one behind Erling Haaland.
But Facundo Buonanotte scored a late equaliser for Leicester.
It was a captain’s performance from Gibbs-White though, and one that Forest fans loved.
Man City fans are seeing the light with Morgan Gibbs-White amid transfer speculation

It wasn’t just Forest fans who were loving Gibbs-White’s performance today. Some City fans were also left impressed.
Previously, some City fans have questioned a potential move for Gibbs-White, believing he doesn’t have enough quality.
Today, though, the England international played in a way to suggest the opposite is true.
Yes, Leicester are poor and have already been relegated. But Gibbs-White was superb for the Reds, and has kept his club in with a chance of securing Champions League football – possibly even at City’s expense.
@MCFC_Rags said: “MORGAN GIBBSWHITE TAKE A BOW, WHAT AN ASSIST. Serious tho that’s the type of creativity we desperately need, been class today, actually feel like a midfield 3 of MGW, Reijnders and Rodri would coookkkk so hard.”
@City__Mick said: “As I always said, Morgan Gibbs-White has the potential to be a great player at City and he’s already a top player.”
@WillRussell_06: “Morgan Gibbs-White, what a ball. Having watched City seriously struggle yesterday and the way Gibbs-White thrives with a target man my stance on him has somewhat softened. He’d be a slightly underwhelming and possibly expensive signing, but I do think he would succeed #mcfc”
@17_MCI added: “Starting to like the idea of Gibbs-White joining city what an assist !”
@RodriRole_ said: “That assist was absolutely insane, he’s gonna be a star.”
Why there’s a great chance Man City will sign Morgan Gibbs-White

Given it is looking like Bayern will win the race for Wirtz, it feels as though Gibbs-White could be someone City push for.
There is the fact Gibbs-White is very close friends with Phil Foden. There is also the notion that he can become the new chief creator at the Etihad Stadium following the exit of Kevin De Bruyne.
His creativity was on full show today, and that cross for Wood was right out of the De Bruyne catalogue.

If Forest do miss out on Champions League qualification, then City will surely fancy their chances of signing him.
Having said that, Gibbs-White’s celebration against Leicester seemed to imply all the talk around him right now is just that.
And it seems many fans are certainly warming to the idea of this potential signing.
