Just when things look as bleak as they possibly can for Manchester City, it’s only the small matter of Liverpool next.
It’s been a horrid few weeks for Manchester City, who have now not won in six games. An unthinkable run under Pep Guardiola.
The streak of five successive defeats finally came to an end on Tuesday but, if anything, throwing away a three-goal lead against Feyenoord felt like the worst result of all.
City were in cruise control thanks to Erling Haaland’s double and Ilkay Gundogan’s volley but yet another calamitous mistake from Josko Gvardiol gave a goal away and sparked the visitors into life.
The Blues are struggling and vulnerable so the last thing they need is a trip to Anfield to face a high-flying Liverpool who have just comfortably defeated Real Madrid.
For once, City have a scary fixture on the horizon and here is everything you need to know about it.

Liverpool vs Manchester City team news
Guardiola remained tight-lipped on any potential team news, revealing he hadn’t seen his squad since Tuesday’s draw and that the injured players would be assessed on Friday.
Rodri and Oscar Bobb remain sidelined and Mateo Kovacic and John Stones likely won’t be available either.
Ruben Dias could come in for his first appearance for a month after returning to the bench on Tuesday.
Liverpool, meanwhile, could bring Trent Alexander-Arnold back into the starting XI. It’s good timing given Conor Bradley suffered a thigh strain towards the end of his excellent display vs Madrid.
Ibrahima Konate is also a doubt after picking up an injury towards the end of the game while Diogo Jota, Alisson, Federico Chiesa and Konstantinos Tsimikas are all sidelined.

Predictions
City have never had their backs against the wall so much under Guardiola and it would be the perfect time to come out swinging.
However, it’s hard to see anything but a Liverpool win. City have a terrible record at Anfield at the best of times and the Blues couldn’t be in worse form going into the fixture.
Liverpool are already eight points clear of the Blues and with the way Mohamed Salah is playing compared to how Gvardiol is, it could be a worrying score line.
Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Man City.
