Manchester City return to Premier League action this week when they take on Leicester City.

It’s been a dreadful season for Manchester City but it could still end with a trophy after the Blues advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals this past weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s side came from behind to beat Bournemouth thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush.

A piece of silverware will go some way to salvaging the sorry season but there is a much bigger priority to attend to.

City are in a competitive race to secure a Champions League spot with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United, Brighton and even Fulham all in the running for fourth.

So, a win against lowly Leicester City is pivotal and here is everything you need to know about the fixture.

Man City vs Leicester City team news

Sunday’s win came at a cost as Haaland suffered an ankle injury that will now see him miss five to seven weeks of action, most of the rest of the season.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: “The doctors told me between five and seven weeks [out].

“So hopefully for the end of season and FIFA Club World Cup he will be ready.”

Rodri, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Oscar Bobb and Manuel Akanji all remained sidelined as well.

Leicester, meanwhile, are without Issahaku Fatawu, while Ricardo Pereira is a doubt.

Prediction

As inconsistent as City are, even they should have absolutely no trouble in dispatching Leicester.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side are verging on hopeless and a team of City’s attacking might, even without Haaland, should easily dispatch them.

Prediction: Man City 4-0 Leicester City.
