Gabby Agbonlahor has said that in his opinion, Erling Haaland will leave Manchester City to sign for Real Madrid one day.
The controversial pundit made this prediction on talkSPORT after the £51.2 million (Eurosport) man won the treble with Pep Guardiola’s side.
Even so, Gabby Agbonlahor believes Erling Haaland will join Real Madrid, sooner rather than later.
Gabby Agbonlahor predicts Erling Haaland to join Real Madrid in the future
Branded as a ‘frightening’ player by Alan Shearer, many believe the youngster will eventually play for the Spanish giants in a couple of seasons.
However, it has been previously reported that the initial £170.9 million release clause in his contract was removed after Pep Guardiola extended his contract until 2025.
Despite this, Gabby Agbonlahor firmly believes that Erling Haaland will bid farewell to Manchester City to sign for Real Madrid in a few years.

“I don’t think Haaland is sticking around for five, six seasons at Manchester City. His first season, he’s won the treble. He’s done it at City now.”
Gabby Agbonlahor focused on the possibility of Erling Haaland joining Real Madrid, saying, “I think he will think that [about winning more trophies] over the next couple of seasons but I think he’ll think, ‘I want to go and play for Real Madrid, then I want to go to this league.’ I don’t think he’ll just want to stay in one league, the Premier League.”
“He’ll want to try all the top leagues and I can just picture him in that Real Madrid team with [Kylian] Mbappe and Vinicius [Jr.] on either side. I can picture that in three years, Ally [McCoist]. I don’t think Haaland will stay at Man City longer than three, four years.”
Only time will tell
At the end of day, even if Gabby Agbonlahor is proven right, Real Madrid will have to pay a world-record fee to sign Erling Haaland from Real Madrid, especially if he signs a new contract.
Currently, the Norwegian superstar’s deal at the Etihad Stadium expires only in 2027, which means Carlo Ancelotti’s side would have to break the bank in order to secure his services.
What one can say for certain is until Pep Guardiola is at the club, it seems unlikely that Erling Haaland will leave Manchester City and in the event that the Sky Blues boss signs yet another contract renewal for a couple of years, their futures may be interlinked.
