Journalist David Ornstein says that he expects Kalvin Phillips will stay at Manchester City beyond the summer window.
City fans were buoyed yesterday when reports surfaced that both Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva are set to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
Walker had been heavily linked with Bayern Munich.
But the 33-year-old has reportedly agreed to stay at City, and could now sign a new deal.
Bernardo has been strongly linked with both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
City fans have been very worried that he could finally leave the club after a few summers of being linked away.
But like Walker, he is also set to stay put.
There are still players that could leave City before the end of the window, such as Aymeric Laporte.
Phillips is someone who has been linked with an exit.
But Ornstein believes the England international will also be remaining.
David Ornstein gives Kalvin Phillips update
Phillips has supposedly had interest in him this summer from the likes of Newcastle United, Liverpool and West Ham United.

Phillips did recently say that was keen to remain at the Etihad Stadium and fight for his place.
But of course, that does not necessarily mean City won’t entertain offers if they come in.
That said, Ornstein believes the former Leeds United midfielder will stay.
He said: “Let’s see if they go in for another midfielder after Gundogan’s departure. They’ve still got Kalvin Phillips there. Despite a lot of speculation around him I do expect him to stay and fight for his place in the coming season.”
Phillips feels like he’s in last chance saloon already at City
Phillips – who was labelled ‘formidable’ by Txiki Begiristain when he first signed – will be a fascinating watch this season.
The 27-year-old had a pretty forgettable first season at the Etihad after his £45 million move from Leeds.
It was really surprising how little he played.
Obviously Rodri was always going to be first choice. But Pep Guardiola just never seemed to trust Phillips.

It’s now on him to prove to the manager that he can be a bigger feature in 2023/24.
If he does stay as expected, but he does not make an impression between now and the end of the year, it could be that City look to offload him in the January transfer window.
