Janusz Michallik has said that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola could reject a move for Jamal Musiala in order to sign Joshua Kimmich.

Speaking to ESPN UK, the pundit made this claim after he was quizzed about the prospect of the former joining City.

However, Janusz Michallik seems to believe that over Jamal Musiala, it is Joshua Kimmich who Pep Guardiola views as his dream signing.

Janusz Michallik says Pep Guardiola will reject Jamal Musiala transfer to sign Joshua Kimmich

It was revealed by Fabrizio Romano last Wednesday that City were ‘keeping an eye’ on the 20-year-old’s situation at Bayern, as he is yet to extend his deal beyond 2026.

The youngster’s future continues to remain a constant topic of discussion, seeing how he is widely viewed as a rare talent.

But Janusz Michallik is confident that Pep Guardiola is keen on signing Joshua Kimmich, branded as ‘elite’ by ESPN FC to the point where he would turn down the chance to coach Jamal Musiala at Manchester City.

“However, I don’t think it’s going to happen because Pep wants Joshua Kimmich and so, there you have it.”

“You can’t get them both, Bayern is not going to let them go so if you had a choice and if Bayern at all will sell, it’s a club that doesn’t have to sell to anybody, if they choose now to, I think Pep would take Kimmich before he takes Musiala.”

Pep Guardiola would likely be buzzing by signing either of them

Janusz Michallik could well be proven wrong as it would not come as a surprise if Pep Guardiola would be over the moon if either of Jamal Musiala or Joshua Kimmich signed for Manchester City.

In the former, Guardiola would get the chance to manage one of the best young players in the world, who has the potential to go down as a legendary attacking midfielder.

As for Kimmich, there are not many better central midfielders than him in world football, who is also a top right-back and most importantly, knows the ins and outs of the Spaniard’s system.

Both would likely emerge as smash hits in sky blue as well, which makes either of their arrivals one that would put a smile on Pep Guardiola’s face.
