‘I don’t think it’s happening’: Pundit says ‘elite’ £100m player would be a really poor signing for Man City

Ale Moreno has said that Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane would not be the best fit at Manchester City.

Speaking on ESPN FC, the pundit was quizzed about the possibility of the England captain finally making a move to Pep Guardiola’s side.

However, Ale Moreno has insisted that even if Manchester City ended up signing Harry Kane, it would not be the smash success one expects it to be one bit.

Ale Moreno insists Harry Kane to Manchester City transfer would be a letdown

Branded as ‘elite’ by The Athletic, it is no secret that the 30-year-old looked close to joining City in the summer of 2021.

But the move did not end up going through, with Alan Shearer even claiming in April that the Spurs legend must be envious of Erling Haaland.

Now, Ale Moreno has said that even if Harry Kane, who has been valued at a whopping £100 milllion by Tottenham (via GOAL) does join Manchester City, the swoop would be quite underwhelming.

“I’m not even entertaining that thought. It’s not even worth talking about. The truth of the matter is, you’re not having Harry Kane chasing around like Julian Alvarez is willing to do.”

Ale Moreno elaborated on why he would not be the best fit at Manchester City, saying, “He wants to go chase around, so be it. Harry Kane is not doing that. That’s not what he does best. Now, can he drop in a deeper position? Yes, he can! But it’s not what he does best. What he does best is being inside the 18-yard box. Oh, who’s also inside the 18-yard box for Manchester City? That’s Erling Haaland.”

“So, it affects you offensively but it also affects you defensively in how you play the game. I don’t think it’s happening.”

Whether one agrees or disagrees with Ale Moreno, what can be assured is that most Manchester City fans do not regret missing out on the Englishman due to the presence of Erling Haaland.
