Erling Haaland was quizzed about his future at Manchester City, considering he has always been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Last month, it was claimed that people close to Haaland were amused by the links to Los Blancos and “laughed off” such speculation.
However, a superstar of the City striker’s calibre is always linked with an exit as such players tend to play in a wide variety of leagues, with other examples including Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Erling Haaland breaks silence on Manchester City future amid Real Madrid links
In February, SPORT had also reported that Real Madrid were keen on having both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland on their books by 2025.
Clearly, the rumours surrounding Haaland’s future are not set to stop anytime soon, especially involving the Spanish giants, who look to be building the best young team in the world.
However, Erling Haaland has revealed that he is happy at Manchester City after he was quizzed about his future and the possibility of him joining Real Madrid one day was mentioned.

“I’m really happy, especially with the people I’m surrounded by. The manager, the directors, the board, I am really happy I have to say. I say this now, it will probably be a massive headline, tomorrow, you never know what the future brings but I am happy. You can write this but you also have to write everything I said before. I am happy”, he said [via journalist Sam Lee on X].
On the possibility of extending his contract at the Etihad Stadium beyond 2027, Haaland replied, “Yeah, my focus is mainly now on the pitch, there’s a lot of games, two days ago a derby, now the Champions League, Sunday is Liverpool so I think I should focus on that.”
Erling Haaland is already a part of an incredible winning environment
Perhaps some may assume that Erling Haaland would depart Manchester City to sign Real Madrid due to their habit of winning silverware at all times.
But at City, not only do they possess the Spanish side’s tendency of winning trophies but they also seem to be similarly focused on adding to their trophy cabinet at all times, which must satisfy Haaland.
After all, even after winning the treble, Pep Guardiola revealed that his players have shown a hunger to win this season that would be “impossible” to better from them.
Such is the culture in the blue side of Manchester, which top players like not just Erling Haaland but other world-class performers like Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne must also appreciate.
