Jamie Carragher has said that in his opinion, Manchester City frontman Erling Haaland could even get better over time.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he was quizzed about whether there is more to come from the £51.2 million (The Athletic) man.

According to Jamie Carragher, Erling Haaland can get even better as time progresses.

Jamie Carragher says Erling Haaland can even get better

Branded as ‘amazing’ by Ilkay Gundogan, the Norwegian striker propelled himself into the conversation for being the best player in the world last season, leading Manchester City to the treble with 53 goals in 52 games.

Even in the ongoing campaign, the 23-year-old has scored three goals in his side’s first three Premier League matches so far.

Ahead of City’s dramatic 2-1 win against Sheffield United on Sunday, Jamie Carragher backed Erling Haaland to improve even further.

“I think so. He’s still a young player. He’s doing things he hasn’t been asked to do before. He wants to be more involved in the build-up. Can they actually get more out of him? The way City and Haaland play, he wants it a bit earlier. He wants that Kevin de Bruyne pass a little bit more.”

“There’s no better person for him to be working with than Pep Guardiola, one of the best managers in football.”

Erling Haaland still has room for improvement

The fact that Jamie Carragher believes Erling Haaland could further better himself is a scary thought for opposition defences for years on end.

Already, it looks like the former Borussia Dortmund goalscorer has the potential to retire as the best striker to have ever played the game.

But in certain aspects, Haaland does have room for improvement, which is natural for a player of his age.

For a player of his stature, the treble-winner has work to do with his back-to-goal, first-touch and in possession in general.

However, Erling Haaland is making gradual improvements to his all-round game and could prove the Liverpool legend right as he continues to hone his craft.
