Sergio Gomez has said that he has no intention of leaving Manchester City whatsoever.
The £11 million (Sky Sports) man made this revelation in an interview with AS, as relayed by Sport Witness after it was recently claimed that Burnley had contacted City in order to sign him.
However, Sergio Gomez has indirectly declined any such offers by pledging his loyalty to Manchester City.
Sergio Gomez says he intends to stay at Manchester City
Being a natural midfielder as well as a winger for Spain’s U-21 side, the 22-year-old, who played as a left-back for just a single season at Anderlecht has struggled in his first season at the Etihad Stadium.
While Gomez possesses the technical attributes to make the cut at Guardiola’s side, defensively, he is nowhere near the standard to even make the grade in the Premier League.
As Sergio Gomez has been rumoured with an exit from Manchester City, he has put all such speculation to rest.

“I haven’t talked to him [Pep Guardiola] about the next season but I want to stay there.”
“I’m going to go from the first day of the preseason with a lot of desire to show him that I can have more minutes.”
“The idea is to stay there. It is my wish.”
Gomez could find it a challenge to make the cut at the club
With Manchester City expected to shop in the left-back market in the summer, it is likely that Sergio Gomez will face direct competition from a more experienced player in his position.
In midfield, Gomez could get minutes in cup competitions but at the end of the day, displacing any of the club’s current midfielders is a challenge for even the very best in the world.
While on the wing, Pep Guardiola is yet to have tested his abilities, which is telling.
As a result, while Sky Blues supporters will admire Gomez’s desire to prove his worth, he could have a tall task ahead of him.
