Sergio Busquets has admitted that while he would like Rodri to replace him at Barcelona, a transfer would a tall task to pull off.
As relayed by Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish midfielder had his say about the £62.8 million (Independent) succeeding him after he bid farewell to the Catalan giants.
It seems Sergio Busquets himself is aware that despite the pull that Barcelona still possess, signing Rodri from Manchester City would be next to impossible.

Branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Danny Murphy, the 26-year-old has been virtually unplayable for Pep Guardiola’s side once again this season.
While the likes of Manchester United’s Casemiro and Arsenal’s Thomas Partey were compared to the three-time Premier League winner, the general consensus is that he is the best No.6 in the world.
So much so that arguably the greatest defensive midfielder of all time in Sergio Busquets is dreaming of Rodri taking his place at Barcelona, while being aware that a transfer looks improbable.
“My favourite option would be Rodri as [a] new pivot for Barça, but I’m told it’s very difficult”, he admitted.
Manchester City would not even consider selling the Spaniard
Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets has been given the right information as Rodri signed a contract with Manchester City until 2027 in only July last year.
Unless a reported falling-out occurs between the ex-Atletico Madrid anchor and Pep Guardiola, as was the case with Joao Cancelo, an exit seems impossible.
While the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne have stolen the headlines this campaign, Rodri has perhaps been the club’s most consistent performer over the last two seasons.
Regardless of whether or not Kalvin Phillips settles in at City, there is not a more well-rounded holding midfielder in Europe than Rodri.
As the highly-rated lynchpin only seems to add more weapons to his arsenal every season, Manchester City would not even entertain the idea of a sale of one of their most instrumental players.
