'In my life': Erling Haaland says he can't stop re-watching one Man City game from this season

Manchester City megastar Erling Haaland has said that he has watched the first half from his side’s 4-0 mauling of Real Madrid again.

In an interview shared by Hayters TV after winning the Footballer Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year Award, the prolific marksman made this claim.

As many reflected that the first-half display produced by Manchester City against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final second leg was an instant classic, Erling Haaland could not agree more.

Erling Haaland says he watched the first-half Manchester City display against Real Madrid again

Perhaps the biggest compliment one could have paid Pep Guardiola’s side after the first 45 is the fact they would have been gutted to just be 2-0 up.

Haaland himself could have got on the scoresheet once or twice, as the Sky Blues absolutely annihilated the European champions at the Etihad Stadium.

As Manchester City produced a masterclass against Real Madrid, which left Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho with all smiles to reach the Champions League final, Erling Haaland reflected on a special night for the club.

“The first half, when I saw it again, is one of the few games I’ve been watching again and I think it’s the best first half I’ve ever seen, ever in my life of a football team.”

Erling Haaland is spot on

It is not an exaggeration from Erling Haaland to make such a claim, as especially in the first-half, Manchester City were unplayable against Real Madrid.

From their attacking intent, the chances they created, the individual displays, the pressing, the control, each and every aspect of the performance was simply breath-taking to witness.

And that too against a side that is known to spring a surprise with a sense of inevitability that explains why they have won the competition 14 times in their history.

If Manchester City perform at the same level against Inter Milan, it could be game over within 45 minutes.
