Joe Cole lavished praise on to Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva.

The well-known pundit went on BT Sport’s Michael Calvin’s Football People podcast, as he expressed his admiration towards the 28-year-old.

Joe Cole emphasised that Bernardo Silva is right up there amongst the best players in the world in his position.

Joe Cole raves about Manchester City maestro Bernardo Silva

Pep Guardiola, who has coached the likes of Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta in the past recently claimed that the Portuguese international is ‘one of the best’ players he has ever worked with.

In 2021, Ilkay Gundogan even said that his teammate was ‘very underrated’, as quoted by ESPN.

Joe Cole rates Bernardo Silva extremely highly, as he reserved special praise for him while talking all things Manchester City.

“Bernardo Silva’s as good a midfielder as there is in world football”, he said.

It’s fair to say that not just Sky Blues supporters but football fans in general would agree with this statement.

Forget midfielders, Bernardo Silva is one of the best players in the world

While Joe Cole is right to claim that the Manchester City fan favourite is an elite midfielder, it is fair to state that his ability goes beyond that, as he is one of the outright best players in the world.

For starters, Silva is also a top-class right-winger, as he has proven once again during the business end of the season, especially during his masterclasses against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in Europe.

If one takes a look at the former Monaco attacker’s skillset; not many can even dream of matching how complete he is.

Bernardo Silva is a world-class No.8, one of the very best dribblers in the world, an incredible technician, capable of skinning defenders out wide whilst also being a defensive behemoth.

The five-time Premier League winner is such an amazingly well-rounded player that Pep Guardiola trusts him to perform almost anywhere and everywhere on the pitch, which cannot be said for most players on the planet.
