As Jack Grealish scored the all-important winner for Manchester City in their 2-1 win against Luton Town, he reserved special praise for Julian Alvarez.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports (10/12/2023), Grealish touched on the Argentine’s display, who set up his goal in the 65th-minute against Rob Edwards’ side.

Julian Alvarez’s lovely pass to the Englishman meant he reached six assists, whilst already having four goals to his name as well in the Premier League this season.

Jack Grealish praises “brilliant” Julian Alvarez after Manchester City bounce back against Luton Town

The World Cup winner was having a quiet outing for much of the game, primarily because the service on show from his teammates was far from brilliant.

But as the contest started to open up after Bernardo Silva’s opener, the 23-year-old played a key role in the winning goal by showcasing his quality as a creator with an inch-perfect pass across the box.

After Manchester City got over the line against Luton Town, Jack Grealish lauded Julian Alvarez.

“Julian [Alvarez] did brilliant and got a really good assist for myself. It’s a good day”, Grealish told Sky Sports after the clash.

Even ex-Southampton manager Nathan Jones described the former River Plate striker as “world-class” as he noticed his intelligent movement during the encounter.

It is easy to forget how young Julian Alvarez still is

Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish is right to have heaped praise on Julian Alvarez, who stepped up to the plate for his side once again as they defeated Luton Town.

When the treble-winner was signed, it seemed like City were signing quite a raw prospect who could potentially take years before fulfilling his natural talent.

However, Julian Alvarez hit the ground running from day one and since then, he has yet to look back.

It goes without saying that like any 23-year-old player, Alvarez has room to improve his game.

But it should be acknowledged that already, the versatile forward is extremely well-rounded, which is not often the case with younger players.
