Now that he has signed a bumper new boot deal, Manchester City star Jack Grealish has identified winning the Champions League as his next target.
Grealish’s rise from hometown hero at Aston Villa to Premier League superstar has been remarkable, and his boot deal now reflects that.
This week news broke of Grealish’s new boot deal with Puma, which is reportedly worth more than double the previous arrangement he had with Nike.
Grealish and Nike parted ways earlier this year, meaning the 28-year-old wore a blacked-out version of his Nike Phantom GX boots during City’s 4-2 win against Tottenham in January.
Puma, who agreed a 10-year deal to produce City’s kits back in 2019, have reportedly given Grealish the most valuable boot deal in the Premier League.
Grealish is clearly one of the most marketable and commercially valuable players on the planet – he already has endorsements with Gucci, Bose headphones and Airwayz.
However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t focused on his performances on the pitch. Speaking after the deal was announced, Grealish outlined his targets and ambitions for the future.
“I’ve got a Premier League medal but I want to win as many trophies as possible and be successful here at City,” he said.
“I said before that when I was young [my dream] was to play for Aston Villa. Once I conquered that I had another dream, then another one.
“Next in line would be to win a major trophy with the national team, and the Champions League.”
Grealish also spoke about his manager Pep Guardiola, crediting him for his upturn in form this season.
“What sets him [Guardiola] apart, he’s a football addict. He watches/analyses everything. I only had to be here two months to see the career he’s had and how he’s achieved so much. I learn every single day and I’m only becoming better.”
