Jamie Carragher has jokingly criticised Micah Hamilton for something he did on Wednesday as Manchester City recorded a 3-2 win over Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League.
The 20-year-old scored along with Oscar Bobb and Kalvin Phillips to hand Pep Guardiola’s side a 100% record in Group G.
So, what did Micah Hamilton do? Let’s take a look…
What Jamie Carragher said about Micah Hamilton
Well, the CBS Sports pundit said that the City Football Academy graduate pulled off some “horrific” theatrics as he won Manchester City a penalty in the second half.
Hamilton was undoubtedly fouled by Nasser Djiga after the Red Star Belgrade No.24 tugged his shirt, although the way in which the Manchester City No.92 went down did look a bit unnatural.
Speaking about the moment, Carragher said: “There was one thing I did not like tonight. He’s got to get it out of his game. That is a horrific, horrendous dive. Look at that, he throws himself to the floor. It’s very theatric. We don’t want to see it, especially from a young player.”

The 45-year-old eventually ended up showing the CBS Sports viewers footage of Micah Richards leaping to the ground in hilarious fashion during his time at Aston Villa, as he tried to win a penalty.
Carragher set up the introduction to that clip by saying Hamilton must have learned to dive from his namesake Micah Richards – so it is hard to tell if he was genuinely being critical of the youngster for his actions in Serbia on Wednesday.
Micah Hamilton will surely get another chance at Manchester City soon
Hamilton – who received praise from Joleon Lescott – shone on his Manchester City debut, and with an FA Cup third round clash against Huddersfield Town coming up, he should get another chance to impress Guardiola.

The Spaniard will surely rest some of his biggest names against the Terriers when this FA Cup clash commences on Sunday 7th January, after a hectic December in which Manchester City must also travel to Saudi Arabia for the FIFA Club World Cup.
Therefore, Hamilton should get another opportunity after his stunning debut against Red Star Belgrade.
