Jamie Carragher has picked Bernardo Silva over Kevin De Bruyne in his EA FC 24 Team of The Year.
The pundit emphasised how Silva has been marvellous this season for the Sky Blues while De Bruyne has been largely sidelined through injury on Sky Sports (via their YouTube channel).
Recently, Jamie Carragher expressed his shock at Gary Neville’s decision not to pick the £43 million (The Telegraph) man in his Premier League Team of The Season.

Last season, of course, the Manchester City duo managed to play crucial roles to ensure their side won the treble.
However, De Bruyne has managed to make a mere two appearances this campaign due to the hamstring injury he picked up in City’s first game in the Premier League.
“I mean, Kevin De Bruyne’s been out all season so he’s only played half of what we’re voting on. I think Bernardo Silva this year has been Manchester City’s best player, outstanding again, last year as he always is so for me, Bernardo Silva”, he told Sky Sports.
“And also, gives you that nice balance [to his team], he’s playing on the side he likes to play on that left side of the midfield three.”

While not many would argue that Kevin De Bruyne was better than Bernardo Silva last season, Jamie Carragher is perhaps correct in picking the latter over the former in his Team of The Year, in our view.
Unfortunately for the Belgian maestro, his exclusion from the side is simply down to his injury woes.
This season, Bernardo Silva, on the other hand, has largely been in red-hot form.
One could argue that Kevin De Bruyne should have been in the side alongside Bernardo Silva.
But since Jamie Carragher chose not to pick both, it is only right that the Portuguese midfielder got the nod over the 32-year-old in the XI.
However, with Kevin De Bruyne returning to full fitness, one can expect him to be a part of any such team in the year, 2024 as there are not many players that are on par with him when he is firing on all cylinders.
