The final of the 2024 European Championship will likely see four Manchester City players feature in it.
After England beat the Netherlands 2-1, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and John Stones secured their place in Sunday’s final to take on Spain where they will face off against Rodri.
Looking ahead to this big game before the focus will then eventually shift back to the return of domestic football, one pundit has made a claim which should excite a lot of City supporters.

Jamie Carragher shares why Phil Foden could shine in England vs Spain
While previewing the upcoming final between Spain and England in a recent column for The Telegraph, Jamie Carragher had this to say on why Foden, in particular, could flourish in this particular match.
He said: “There is the team that struggles against low block defences and the one which thrives when given the time and space to express itself. Spain will not be defending.
“That makes for an exciting prospect because the likes of Phil Foden are getting better with every match.”
Foden could be a key player for England against Spain
Looking back over his previous season with Pep Guardiola’s side, the 24-year-old scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions.
Despite that, and the fact that he has started all six of England’s games in the tournament, the City star has been unable to find the back of the net or deliver an assist for the Three Lions.
This makes us feel that Foden, who Gary Lineker said was unlucky not to score against the Netherlands, will see this weekend’s final as a perfect game to finally provide a goal contribution for his country in this tournament.
Now that Carragher has claimed that Spain’s unlikeliness to play defensively in the final could result in seeing Foden get the chance to show his attacking flair, every City and England supporter will definitely be hoping that this turns out to be the case and he can help the Three Lions make history win the match.
