Jeremy Doku is officially a Manchester City player – and the star has revealed Kevin De Bruyne has already been in contact with him.

The 21-year-old has become City’s third summer signing of the window after Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.

Doku completes his move for a fee in the region on £55 million.

He was been described by Julien Laurens as ‘an amazing talent’ in terms of skillset, but still lacking end product a little.

But Doku will likely improve his game dramatically working alongside world-class players and also Pep Guardiola.

One such world-class player is De Bruyne, and Doku has revealed the 32-year-old has already been in contact with him.

The electric youngster is extremely excited for the opportunity and can’t wait to get going.

But he also obviously mentioned De Bruyne, who is his Belgium international teammate.

And Doku has revealed that De Bruyne actually made contact with him as soon as he knew City were going in for the winger.

He said (mancity.com): “Yeah, of course I know Kevin. He’s now our captain also so yeah as soon as he heard about the rumours (about the move), he directly sent me a message and give me some info, (asking) if I had questions.

“And yeah, obviously now he’s injured but he sent me a message and told me that if I have any questions and if I need him for anything, he’s there.

“So, I was happy to hear that and it’s very nice.”

It was reported this week that De Bruyne played a small part in getting the player to the Etihad.

It’s great leadership from the two-time PFA Premier League Player of the Season.

Doku will hopefully be able to settle nice and quickly, and having De Bruyne at the Etihad will surely help him to do that.

The pair obviously know each other well already.
