Jermain Defoe has been building his perfect player made up of his former teammates.
Defoe has played with some amazing players during his career from a Ballon d’Or winner in the shape of Luka Modric, to Premier League legends such as Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.
Jermain Defoe built his perfect player made up of a number of attributes, and, interestingly, he picked a player who is currently on Manchester City’s books for pace.
The former Tottenham striker played with some incredibly quick players during his career such as Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott and even Gareth Bale, but according to Defoe, Kyle Walker is the fastest player he’s ever played with.

Jermain Defoe names Kyle Walker as his fastest teammate ever
Defoe was asked to build his perfect player made up of a number of attributes taken from his old teammates while speaking to the FA Cup’s TikTok page.
The pundit picked Luka Modric’s right foot and Michael Carrick’s football IQ, while, for pace, he picked Kyle Walker.
Of course, Walker and Defoe played together for Tottenham, while they also lined up alongside one another for England on occasion.
Defoe and Walker actually have a solid record when playing alongside each other too.
| Jermain Defoe and Kyle Walker’s record together | |
| Games | 95 |
| Wins | 54 |
| Draws | 20 |
| Losses | 21 |
Walker is out on loan at AC Milan at the moment, after a poor first-half of the season, but, technically, he is still a Manchester City player.
Walker is set to leave City permanently this summer, but he will depart as a borderline club legend after winning everything there is to win at the Etihad.
How fast is Kyle Walker?
Walker is one of the fastest players around, there’s no doubt about that.
The £50m man has slowed down in recent times, but, at the age of 34, that is to be expected.
However, in his pomp, Walker was one of the fastest players in Premier League history.
In fact, according to the numbers, Walker remains the second-fastest player in the Premier League since data started being collected in 2020.
| Fastest recorded Premier League players | Top speed (km/h) |
| Micky van de Ven | 37.38 |
| Kyle Walker | 37.31 |
| Chiedozie Ogbene | 36.93 |
| Anthony Elanga | 36.91 |
| Pedro Neto | 36.83 |
Gareth Bale was another of Defoe’s teammates who could’ve been a contender for this category, but, according to The Speeds Database, Bale’s top speed is 36.9 km/h, which is shy of Walker’s record.
Walker has been praised for his pace on numerous occasions, and that speed has always been a key weapon for the full-back.
