Jermain Defoe says Man City have a player who’s even better than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah

Jermain Defoe has made quite the claim about one of Manchester City’s key players.

The former England striker was taking part in a TikTok challenge with Goal where he had to blind rank some of the very best attackers in Premier League history.

Inevitably, both Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland were a part of this challenge.

Initially, this was a blind ranking, and due to the order in which the names were chosen, Defoe made some mistakes.

However, the pundit was given a chance to rethink his ranking towards the end, and in doing so, he changed the order of his ranking, putting Erling Haaland ahead of Salah.

Jermain Defoe ranks Erling Haaland over Mohamed Salah

Defoe ranked some of the best attackers in the Premier League.

The pundit was asked to rank five all-time greats, including two modern-day legends in the shape of Haaland and Salah.

Haaland and Salah didn’t make their way towards the top of Defoe’s list, but Haaland was ultimately chosen over Salah.

Salah and Haaland have often been compared as the Premier League’s two most effective goalscorers, and, in Defoe’s mind, Haaland is the better player.

Defoe picked Haaland over Salah, and when you look at the numbers, it’s easy to understand why.

Indeed, as prolific as Salah has been over the years in the Premier League, Haaland has taken goalscoring to a different level.

Haaland and Salah may, once again, be two players who define the title race this season.

At the moment, Haaland is leading the way in the Golden Boot race, netting five goals in four games so far, but Salah has also been chipping away, netting two already this season.

Regardless of who you prefer, it has to be said that these are two of the greatest Premier League players of all-time.
