Jorginho says Kevin De Bruyne is one of the two best players in the Premier League he has ever faced.
The Arsenal technician gave his two cents on going toe-to-toe with De Bruyne on The Athletic Football Podcast.
The Italian international has previously expressed his admiration towards Kevin De Bruyne, acknowledging him as the best midfielder in the world in May this year.
Jorginho says “ridiculous” Kevin De Bruyne is one of the two best Premier League players he has ever faced
Even Bruno Guimaraes singled the £54 million (Independent) man out as the player who impressed him the most when he played against the Sky Blues.
While Thierry Henry once hailed the 32-year-old as the greatest midfielder in the league’s history, despite playing alongside a certain Patrick Vieira at Arsenal.
Jorginho revealed that alongside Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne is the best player in England he has ever gone head-to-head with.

“Kevin De Bruyne is ridiculous. But I think [Mohamed] Salah in that period, he was another level, wasn’t he?”
“I think yeah, I still think I’d put Salah first.”
“That season was unbelievable, you could not stop him, he was so strong, powerful, so fast. His mentality. However, he would shoot, if you touched the ball, it would go in. So, yeah, for me that season that he had was unbelievable.
“Then in terms of intelligence on the pitch, Kevin is another level as well, it’s so hard to mark him because he’s always in the right place, always on your shoulders. Like where is he, is he here now? No, he’s there. I would say these two”, he told The Athletic Football Podcast.
The Manchester City maestro has outdone Mohamed Salah in the Premier League
Jorginho has the right to pick Mohamed Salah over Kevin De Bruyne as the best Premier League player he has ever faced, as ultimately, he is speaking from his own experience of playing against both.
But during their time in the Premier League, the treble-winner has outperformed the Liverpool legend.
As outstanding as Salah has been over the years, De Bruyne is and has been just a far more complete player than him.
Often, the Egyptian icon is on the periphery of games before coming alive in the final third with a goal or an assist, which is a knack that all elite attackers have.
However, Kevin De Bruyne has shown on several occasions that he is capable of being the best player on the pitch without even getting a goal or an assist.
This very trait is one of many that gives De Bruyne the edge over Salah, as at the end of the day, both have completed club football at their respective sides.
