Jose Mourinho has now shared why he thinks Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season.

The 60-year-old spoke to John Obi Mikel on the Obi One podcast.

So, what did Jose Mourinho say about Manchester City? Let’s take a look…

What Mourinho said about Manchester City

Well, the Setúbal-born tactician believes squad depth will help Pep Guardiola bring a fourth consecutive Premier League title to the Etihad Stadium.

Mourinho said: “I would say Man City 51% and Liverpool 49%.

“Of course, Chelsea is not going to win. It is out of the question. Manchester United is not going to win it too… I would like Arsenal to win it. But 51, 49. And I say 51, 49 because when the accumulation of matches are coming, Man City has two teams.”

Manchester City do often embark on a remarkable run of form in the second half of the season.

Guardiola watched his side win 12 Premier League games in a row to end the 2022/23 campaign, which ate up Arsenal’s eight-point lead and shoved the Gunners into second.

Mourinho is right about Manchester City

Mourinho is correct – nobody should be writing Manchester City off anytime soon.

The Citizens have Kevin De Bruyne to return from injury next month, by which point John Stones should also be fit enough to start regularly once again.

That is the equivalent of Manchester City making two world class signings in January.

Guardiola is also expected to welcome Boca Juniors No.19 Valentin Barco to the Etihad Stadium next month, a player who is talented enough to be a real asset this season despite being just 19 years of age.

While Manchester City are currently five points off the top of the Premier League, nobody should be counting them out just yet – not by any means.
