Manchester City interim boss Juanma Lillo has revealed to what extent Pep Guardiola will be involved in his side’s tactics ahead of their clash against Sheffield United.

After all, the Catalan manager is set to be ruled out of City’s next two fixtures as he is set to undergo back surgery.

However, Juanma Lillo has disclosed whether him or Pep Guardiola will be calling the shots as Manchester City take on Sheffield United, as quoted by Manchester Evening News’ Joe Bray.

Juanma Lillo reveals Pep Guardiola involvement ahead of Manchester City vs Sheffield United

Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan crowned his former coach as the best he has seen in his lifetime and perhaps rightfully so, as he has gone on to become the first manager to have won two trebles amongst other unique accolades.

As a result, the absence of such a pivotal figure in City’s success ahead of their trip to Bramall Lane has come as an undeniable blow to the side.

However, Juanma Lillo has confirmed that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will decide the tactics as his side prepare to face Sheffield United on Sunday.

“Everything. The contact is continuous, telephone, video call, everything.”

“The contact is continuous; he is watching Sheffield right now. What’s important is his health. It doesn’t keep him from being who he is. He’s fully focused on the match”, he said.

Unsurprising to know Pep Guardiola will be involved

Pep Guardiola is known to be immersed in all aspects of football and it does not come as a shock that he would decide the masterplan for his Manchester City side to ensure they maintain their winning start to the new season.

There are not many managers that the game has ever seen that are as meticulous in their preparation as Guardiola.

As a result, even when the Spaniard is presumably supposed to be resting, he cannot help but be a workaholic.
