Bellingham trying to lure Erling Haaland away from Manchester City
Well, the England international and the Norway international became good friends during their time at Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland and Bellingham made 63 appearances together in Germany, combining to score seven goals.
Now – according to Cadena SER – the Real Madrid No.5 wants a reunion with the Manchester City No.9 at the Santiago Bernabeu, and makes weekly calls to the Norwegian.
Journalist Manu Carreño said: “What I get is that Bellingham and Haaland are speaking almost every week. Bellingham calls him and he tells him to come to Real Madrid. They already met at Dortmund and it seems that Haaland doesn’t like Manchester very much.”
It comes after AS in Spain claimed that the Manchester City talisman would join Real Madrid tomorrow if he could.
Cadena SER add that Haaland has a release clause worth €100m (£86m) for clubs outside of the Premier League.
The Leeds-born striker has once again been hugely effective in front of goal this season, netting 19 times in just 22 appearances.
Manchester City working on Haaland contract
A player who scored 52 goals in just 53 games last season is always going to attract interest from elsewhere – something Manchester City seem all too aware of.
The Daily Mail believe Manchester City are currently working on a new contract for Haaland, which would take his salary beyond £400,000-a-week.
It is said that a release clause will still – most likely – be included in any new deal, but presumably, Manchester City would attempt to raise the value of it during negotiations.
