Garth Crooks has said that the way Pep Guardiola berated Erling Haaland against Burnley could lead him to leave Manchester City to join Real Madrid.
In his column for BBC Sport, the outspoken pundit gave his view on the Spanish tactician’s public argument with the £51.2 million (Sky Sports) man.
Surprisingly, Garth Crooks believes arguments of such a volatile nature between Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland could push the latter towards a move to Real Madrid.
Garth Crooks says Pep Guardiola fury could push Erling Haaland to make Real Madrid move
Branded as ‘outstanding’ by Jamie Carragher, the Norwegian superstar kicked off the season in style with a stunning brace against Burnley.
But at half-time, the 23-year-old was spotted telling Bernardo Silva off for not playing him through in the first 45, which led to the Manchester City boss seemingly ripping into him right after.
However, Garth Crooks has said that Pep Guardiola could be taking a risk by publicly berating Erling Haaland in such a manner to such an extent that he decides to join Real Madrid.

Erling Haaland will be aware that this is part and parcel of football
Garth Crooks is making a mountain out of a molehill as where Real Madrid come into the picture after a mere disagreement between Erling Haaland and the Manchester City manager is a baffling thought.
Perhaps Guardiola should have said his piece inside the dressing room.
But working with such a serial winner, Haaland will realise that the Catalan is only imparting his advice to him for his and the team’s benefit.
Such heated arguments seem to particularly take place at winning clubs where the entire ensemble is united by a common goal of emerging victorious time and again.
