As Manchester City beat Leicester City 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium, Jamie Redknapp likened Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland to Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry.

The pair linked up for the Norwegian striker’s 32nd goal of the league season, with the Belgian playing a sublime through ball to his teammate who dinked it past the Foxes goalkeeper.

Alan Shearer recently said that Harry Kane, who seemed destined to join City in the summer of 2021 would have been envious of seeing the 22-year-old get such top service from one of the best chance-creating sides in the world.

Well, it is likely that Jamie Redknapp would agree as he compared the Manchester City pair of Kevin De Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland to Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry after their win against Leicester.

“When I see De Bruyne and Haaland linking up, it’s just a joy to watch. Their movements that they have and the appreciation of each other, and they’re just going to make and score so many goals playing together”, he said via Football Daily.

“It really is a dream to me. We [him and Kolo Toure] were talking off air about Bergkamp and Henry, this is what it feels like at times. They’ve just got this…it’s telepathic, it’s very hard to put your finger on why it works.”

While Bergkamp and Henry are arguably the greatest double-act the Premier League has ever seen, Redknapp is right when pinpointing that when watching the Sky Blues duo link up as they did for against Dean Smith’s Leicester side, the parallels come naturally.
