This summer will mark an end of an era at Manchester City as Kevin De Bruyne prepares to leave the club.

Manchester City confirmed a few weeks ago that Kevin De Bruyne would be leaving the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

Is it unknown where De Bruyne will be plying his trade next season, though there has been a fair bit of speculation relating to a potential MLS move.

De Bruyne has been in especially fine form in recent weeks and he bagged an important goal for City in their 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Speaking after the game, De Bruyne revealed what his City teammates have been saying to him about his departure at the end of the season.

Kevin De Bruyne says Manchester City teammates are sad to see him go

De Bruyne began by speaking about his side’s performance against Wolves and how they’ve been faring this season.

“We found a way to win,” De Bruyne said on Sky Sports. “Now we can relax and see what the others do.

“It’s been a tough year, but we’re finding a bit of a groove to find the games we need to win.”

De Bruyne then spoke about his own circumstances, admitting that a lot of his teammates have made it known to him that they’re sad he’s leaving.

“I’m just trying to play as good as I can,” he continued. “I know I’ve got one game left here, but I just try to do my job like I’ve always done.

“I’m proud of what I’m doing and that’s how it’s always been.

“A lot of teammates have spoken to me, they’re sad also that I’m leaving but sometimes that’s how it goes in life. The way I’m performing and acting, is how everyone should be.”

De Bruyne then admitted he’s still not made a decision over his future, though he certainly feels he can still do it at the highest level.

“I don’t know [what the future holds], unfortunately,” said De Bruyne. “I’ve showed I can still play or I wouldn’t do what I’ve done in the last four or five weeks.”

What Jeremy Doku said about Kevin De Bruyne’s qualities

Jeremy Doku, who assisted De Bruyne for his winner, agreed with his teammate in terms of his ability to still perform at the highest level.

“There was no doubt in him still being capable of doing those things,” he told Sky Sports at full time.

“He has shown today that he still has that quality. I am happy for him that he scored.”
